At the end of this month, Emma Nuttall, our General Assistant will be taking the weekend off from checking in customers, to go check in at a hostel in Fort William for the night, before climbing to the peak of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in Britain.
“Lease of Life (Lease of Life, Facebook)”:http://www.facebook.com/leaseoflife2012 aims to provide access to sport for any child suffering or recovering from cancer and has pledged all funds raised by their team to the Cyclists Fighting Cancer Charity, whose purpose it is to provide bikes, adapted tricycles and equipment to children and young people whose lives have been affected by cancer.
As many of our customers will understand, bikes provide a fun and practical way to regain lost strength, fitness and confidence.
With three weeks to get in shape, Emma will be sacrificing the comfort of staying inside on the couch next to the fire to do a number of mountain walks and runs around the Lake District.
So far this week, since starting her training, she has already encountered typical terrible weather, endured blisters and to top it off has been defecated on by one of the local farmer’s cows.
Thorney How will be the first to make a donation of £10.00 and is proud to be supporting Emma and the Lease for Life/Cyclists against Cancer campaign.
If you would like to help her reach her target of £300.00 please visit the “Group Just Giving Page here”:http://www.justgiving.com/2012-Ben-Nevis-Challenge-Team1:
Remember to detail that it is Emma you are sponsoring as this is a group page.
We appreciate your tie and help in supporting this worthy cause.
